Welcome to Canada, I hope you like it up here as much as I do.
Permalink Reply by Theo Pella on January 13, 2013 at 9:15pm That's awesome! Welcome to Vancouver! I was just talking about Lululemon tonight. HAha! I need to get something to their marketing dept. By chance you are not starting work in Marketing tomorrow are you? As a recent American who has moved to BC... Enjoy the sunny days when they come, buy a good umbrella and watch out for the insane drivers! You should check the pharmacys ASAP to see if BC diabetic supplies are the same that you use from the US, otherwise you might be traveling down to Blaine or Bellingham to pick stuff up.
Permalink Reply by Bram on January 15, 2013 at 9:54pm Hi Theo! Sorry for the delayed response here. No, I am not starting in marketing, but am still learning who is who! Great company though, really enjoy the first couple days of training :) I have a couple umbrellas from San Fran, but I am sure will need to get a REAL ONE! Speaking of insane drivers, almost got run over downtown tonight. Gesh! I will have to check pharmacies soon, but should be good for awhile, since I stocked up before I left US. Going to have to figure something out for my Dexcom Sensors since they wont ship to BC. That is my only gripe so far.
Permalink Reply by Bram on January 15, 2013 at 9:55pm Thanks for the welcomes! So far the sterotype of Canadians being really nice is TRUE! Really enjoyed the people I have met so far!
Permalink Reply by Theo Pella on January 15, 2013 at 10:00pm You can get a mailbox right across the border in Blaine. I believe my wife uses Mailboxes International http://www.mbistore.com/ where you can get packages sent there cheaply as an option.
Get a Nexus card though... best $50 you will invest in.
I am Canadian with Dutch genes, please don't hold that against me , ha, ha . By the way the name Bram is very Dutch sounding ? Welcome Amigo ...I start talking like my fav. man Manny Hernandez, our TuD.org founder ! Did I mention previously , that you may require an US Doctor contact to get your Dexcom Sensors ??
