There definitely is! I've been using this: http://www.diabetesexpress.ca/product_info.php/products_id/419?osCs... for about a year and a half, and I'm quite happy with it. I use it constantly, and it provides pretty detailed info about carbs, fibre, fat, protein, calories et al.

I also used to have this one, which looked nicer to me and which is more affordable, but I find the one above is a little more user-friendly. But they're both great. http://www.diabetesexpress.ca/product_info.php/cPath/44_72_85/produ...

I think I am going to go for the Salter1450 Nutri Weigh scale, it is pricey but I like the features it offers, and it's on sale right now. Thanks everyone for your recommendations! Much appreciated :)

I use the EatSmart Scale - EatSmart™ Nutrition Pro Scale - Digital Food and Nutrient Calculator. I posted a similar question and this one was recommended highly. I just love it! Very easy to use and a nice easy to read display, that has a backlight feature. All you do is put the food on it, key in the code for that food, and it will tell you how many carbs. It has really made life easier for me I have to say.

Thanks, I will check both out, the scales I have been looking at don't count carbs, just calories and fat, thought I might have been asking a stupid question or asking for too much in a scale, thanks again, now i'm happy :)

The EatSmart one does that as well. Gives you carbs & calories & fat too. I have to admit that I usually only look at the carbs :)
I had to order it from the EatSmart website as no one seems to carry it in Canada. (At least when I was shopping around for one)

Found a scale for $150.00, wonder if my insurance will cover it under diabetes supplies HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! This diabetes is putting me in the poor house.

I have the Salter 1450 model , a gift through one of my diabetes connections ...I have not quite mastered using it to the best use ...need to spend some time with the gadget .

LOL, Diabetes supplies should be free or a lot cheaper, it's not a luxury to be taking insulin and testing our blood, it's what we need to keep us alive!

i agree with you 100%!! test strips are killing me!!! and since we all know that a cure is NOT just around the corner, and we will be taking these meds for the rest of our lives, why not make that just a little more affordable! they will certainly still be making money on us! (i am feeling a little bitter today!)
