Jeff, if you use OneTouch Meter, they have what it called, OneTouch Diabetes Management Software. Go to www.onetouch.ca and put software in search box. I believe you can open the manual there too. The hardware, which connects the meter to computer, is free with registeration of meter I believe.

does anyone know of any downloadable preferably free bg monitoring software?

I have been using the InsuLinx for about a month and a half now and I love it. There are a few things that can be improved, but all in all, it's like having the bolus wizard on the pump without having to wear the pump. I would recommend it for anyone who is using MDI.

Stopped by our pharmacy today. They had the ibgstar free with 100 strips and they had just recieved the freestyle insulinx. So new they didn't know if it was a sample, if there was a free with strips deal, or ....
Hoping to try out the insulinx - the bolts calculator sounds like it could be a great option

@Mountaincat I think I got ripped then if they mention it's free! D: I probably didn't look at the right place when I ordered it! Oh well... At least I love it! Haha!
Thanks for the extra info! I was very much of a OneTouch user for most of my diabetic life, I felt bad putting my meter away... Haha! But unless they come up with an iPhone Bg meter like the iBGStar, not sure I'm going to go back!

anyone have any idea on availability of these new glucometers? the iBGStar and the Freestyle Insulinx both look really interesting

@MountainCat I recently purchased the iBGStar and it did -not- come free with 100 strips. Well at least not in the province of Quebec. None of the drug stores I went to sold them, so I had to order it online. Maybe elsewhere in Canada though! Thanks for the info about the new glucometers!
I actually made areview about the iBGStar!

For our Albertan Voting friends: EDMONTON, ALBERTA (April 2, 2012) – Today, the Canadian Diabetes Association launched Election Central, a website dedicated to providing Alberta voters with information about candidates’ positions on important diabetes-related issues. The site also features tools to help Albertans with diabetes have their voices heard during this election. The website can be accessed at election.diabetes.ca
