Theo , are your friends residing in BC as well ? ...that's different, that they get reimbursed at a later date by Pharmacare ?
BJ , this proposal is related to those , who pay out of own pocket /Extended Health Plan for instance PBC .I think it is at least over one year, that Pharmacare payments are not covered by Air Miles and possibly neither by other point systems , such as Shoppers , Save-on- Foods

Only reason I use "Safeway" - airmiles,no airmiles - no money from me... I want "rewards" for my money, especially for what I have to spend! :)

I was just told about this a week ago. That friends of ours are getting air miles from buying all their supplies from Safeway and then getting reimbursed later by pharmacare.

Nel, to the best of my understanding, they have essentially already done this? If pharmacare pays into it, you dont receive points/airmiles/etc. I guess the idea is to take it a step further?

More work folks : picked up from Safeway Pharmacy yesterday a notice : BC College of Pharmacists has proposed a by-law that would prohibit pharmacies like Safeway from awarding customers any Air Miles in connection with filling prescriptions ...If one agrees with Safeway ( and I would think this to include all Pharmacies ?? )that removing Air Miles ( and other type points ??) for prescriptions would be anti -competitive and unfair to customers ...a direct link for ability to comment by December 28 is : www.bcpharmacists.org/news_events/news/news206.php

SuzP I had purchased the ibgstar and thought how cool it was, all of a sudden my sugars were high almost all the time and then getting lows when I corrected. I found out the big was not accurate and had to go back to my usb contour, now I have the freestyle insulin, I would not recommend the ibgstar and the strips there were so many errors. geesh.
just a warning.

A chance to pledge one's support for the Canadian Diabetes Association's advocacy efforts – and one will help the progress already made, to ensure fair and affordable access to publicly-funded insulin pump programs, for all people in Canada.

329,040 minutes, 329,040 moments so dear. 329,040 minutes — How do you measure, measure volunteers? In smileys, in tears shed, in counsel, in cups of coffee. In units, in carb counts, in laughter, in strife. In 329,040 minutes – how …
