Hello Nel,
Thanks for the welcome. I appreciate all the info available here. I am especially interested in managing lows and the long term effects. Like all of us, a work in progress.

Hello Bill,
Thanks for the link. Read the paper and understand more. This learning is a process. Thanks.

The ADA and endocrine society have a new hypoglycaemia document out. Basically they reconfirmed the previous definitions of hypoglycaemia. It starts when readings are lower or equal to 3.9mmol. The document also gave guidance for different age groups and for hypoglycaemia unawareness cause and prevention. Lots of big words are used. :)

You can now get the Contour next USB free in Canada with 100 test strips. Apart from the more accurate test strips, you can now log carbs and insulin.

Hi Howie ...we as Seniors and doing income spitting are ahead with applying for the DTC , if only we had paid more Tax up front ...but who really wants to do that ..it's best to owe later ...you agree ?? To answer your question ...I think one can apply any time for the DTC ..and yes I have been denied , only because my GP did NOT complete my request properly and I went elsewhere ...NO time limit set by the CRA in my case see page 42 , line 316 of the 2012 General Income Tax and Benifit guide ...PS maybe we should add the comments to discussion " Disability Tax credit for ....."

2014 is my last year receiving my current DTC. Should I reapply around mid-2014? I was planing on getting my Endo to deal with it again. I have a photocopy of the application he made for me in 2009. So I'm not expecting any problems. Has ANYBODY ever been declined when reapplying? If so why?

I just filed my 2012 Income Tax return and noticed that the DTC is over $7,500 now with cost-of-living indexing.
