I have always been amused how people profess to be "beleivers", and then separate themselves into various churches / denominations. Out of curiosity, what type of church, or denomination, do you attend? What do you particulary like about your church?

As for me, I left the Presbyterian Church (PCA) in 10/06, and now attend a non-denominational church. I thoroughly enjoy my new church, where our worship service is a true celebration of God's grace in our lives.

I was raised Episcopalian. However, too many things made me question my church. I found a non-denominational church that I love where I can be who I am, have feelings and questions without getting a stern brow, and for once relax and enjoy the church and my friends there. I think what you get out of it tells you if you are in the right place or not. J
I was raised Episcopalian but I thoroughly enjoy a non-denominational church that I found. I truly feel connected with the people and love the relaxed atmosphere and newer music. I feel a closer spiritual connection then I ever have now. J
Travis, I attended many churches, have been ministers in several of them. Liked them all and I attended many other denominational churches, each had a faith-tradition, a Spirit and a Truth, and I walked away with mainly a good experience, but i recognized I needed and I wanted more Spirit and Truth more often, so I joined the relationship of "Where 2 or 3 are gathered in My Name I am there", we meet Daily in my sitting area and coffee is available. You are invited. Wear your robe! No facades, what you hope is what you will find! By the way diabetic for over 40 years, dialysis for 2.5 years, "cured" for 6 years in 2 days.( K-P transplant ) Lot of thanksgiving, praise and worship for the "Sovereign Known but Unseen".I hope you have found a place as good as mine. Thanks for the opportunity to share mine!
Well it may be surprising to many but I am Pentecostal and attend our local First Assembly of God,and I am truely proud and blessed to have a wonderful church family and place of worship and praise.I also have several friends at church who are also diabetic and are on the insulin pump which I am cosidering.I truely feel and belive no matter what denomination a person is from our belief in our Lord and saviour brings us all closer.
I am very loving and passionate about how special my church is. It is a non denominational church and I will tell you why it makes me love it so. First, I can be who I am, enjoy beautiful live music and don't have to act or dress to a certain standard. There aren't classes of people like I experienced my life in an Episcopal church. My parents never taught me about the church and just my brothers and I there every week. I did not know the proper things to say at the proper time or what to be doing at specific times and it was formal and made me very uptight. I go in my jeans and tshirt if I want and I am just as loved and welcomed as everyone else there. It is an extremely large church where we typically have about 3300 on Sundays in two sessions. There are many groups and support groups. We are extremely active with local issues such as keeping several food banks supplied. There is no better in the area for kids especially teens groups. They keep them active, involved in community and missionary work. That was important to me when I moved here. We tried several churches but didn't have much for teens. My son was new to the state and we had just come thru a divorce and he really needed to be loved on by friends. I find the music so beautiful now and is very soothing to my soul.
Lutheran. The Pastor is awesome and we have upbeat, contemporary worship music often in our services. I dislike the old Lutheran traditional services we sometimes have but realize that the older crowd in our Church probably feel the same way when we play the modern music.
What are some of you favs.??
I go to a non-denominational church, which I love! Lincoln Brewster is out worship leader and his music is so inspirational! God has transformed my life and I can't imagine managing my Diabetes without God's help.
Oh so so true....same here Helen!!
Hi. I'm a Christian, too. I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon). It's odd that people claim we're not Christian, when our Church name has Jesus Christ in it, and we believe that He is the head of our Church. I enjoy this site. I find it amazing, even in my Church, that people will load me up with things to do, and have NO idea about the problems my diabetes causes me. They'll say, "Oh, you have Diabetes? But you're in control, right? Then how about helping out with the Scouts camp this summer!" Few people understand what diabetes does to you...
I am an elder in the Presbyterian Church, USA. I was raised Southern Baptist, and attended non-denominational churches in college. I am a fan of "unity in the essentials, charity in what remains."

Mark
My parents are the pastors of the church I go to. It's a non-denominational church. I love the freedom we have.
