According to the word of God the answer is flat out no. If you say that God did something you must have scripture to back it up. Here are some verses that prove that God does not make anyone sick or diseased. First note that God says what He means and means what He says. Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
Does God want us sick or healthy? 3John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. God’s desire above all things is that we prosper and be and be in good health.
I have heard some people say that God made them diabetic to test them or to be an example for others, lets see. James 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: The word tempted is the Greek word apeiastos meaning not to be tempted and is a derivative of the Greek word peirao meaning to test.
If God cannot lie then check out at this verse. Romans 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God. If God made one person diabetic and not another person then He would be respecting one of them.
Lastly look at this verse. Matthew 12:25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: Throughout the Gospels Jesus Christ healed all manner of sickness and disease. If God made them sick and diseased for some reason and Jesus Christ healed them that would be a house divided.
I encourage you to look at these verses yourself; I used the King James Version.

I am not looking for a struggle with the interpretation of my God or the word I receive. I am here to share love and joy that I receive from my life by enjoying his beauty provided and sharing his gifts of love. I do not know your intentions but not here to prove or be proven on anything. This doesn't mesh with my demeanor. J
My only intention is to share that God is love and He loves His children. I have used verses that state that. If you love God and the beauty of His wonder you are on the right track. I am not here to argue the Bible, I wanted to bless you with verses of God's wonderful love for us.
I do and without challenge and without someone pointing it out to me. My life is completely satisfying with my walk with God, thank you.
Let us keep to the topic shall we?
God may not have made us "ill"..however our ills are used to reach out to others, to bring us to Him in surrender, and to glorify Him.
2 Co 4: 5-18.
I don't think God necessarily made us diabetic. Did he know that we would be diabetic? I'm sure. God knows everything.
Will God use our Diabetes in our lives to make us stronger, better Christians? Absolutely. God brings good things out of bad things. I know Diabetes has brought me closer to God.
God doesn't make us diabetic and I use Exodus 15:26 as my example which in part says, "I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you." J
No I don't believe God made be diabetic, but I do thank him for giving me the intelligence to manage and the friendships I've gained from it.Diabetes may be an irratating problem but thank God I have him and my friends to deal with it.
I heard a intresting take on suffering once. Take a jar made of clay. It's ugly mishapen and useless in it's original form. Once tested by fire it either fails or becomes a useful tool and a thing of beauty. A testament to it's maker and to the clay. Take job for example he had it rough, i mean real rough. God didn't cause the suffering but he gave job the tools to handle it and job took a bad situation and made the most out of it always keeping his faith. He became a useful tool for god. I am trying very hard to make this stick lately. Sometimes it's easier to blame god. Reality is that he is not to blame even though he can make it go away. Without suffering there can be no joy.
John 9:1-3. Jesus was walking in Jerusalem. He saw a man who was blind. The
man was already blind when he was born. Jesus’ disciples asked, “Teacher, why is
he blind? Did his parents sin and make him blind, or did he sin?” Jesus answered,
“This man is not blind because he sinned or his parents sinned. He is blind
because God wanted to do a wonderful work through him.”
Wow!I strongly believe that God doesn't give us a challenge or situation without having deeper meaning in it.

But i cannot wrape my head around the passages above of God not making us sick and that is not his work, but then this passage talks about how we are this way for him to work through us.
Well, it looks like no one has been talking about this topic in a while. The scriptures laid down settles the argument for most I suppose.

I thought maybe at least God allowed it that I became diabetic. Got to be careful what you pray for--I, like every other female in American, asked Him to cause me to lose ten pounds FAST and then force me to eat right and motivate me to exercise. So....God sent the Pneumonia Diet. Not recommended! And I found out I was diabetic as well, so I HAD to eat right and excercise! I was only 12 pounds overweight so I got back to normal weight in just over two weeks. Still have a banged up lung.
Hey guys, Im not to sure if this discussion is still going on buut, this is my view...

I do believe that god gave me diabetes to open my eyes to the things around me. I strongly believe that god doesnt put roadblocks and challenged in our paths for the hell of it. I know what the bible says, but God has helped me grow from my diabetes and learn from all the challenges. I know use diabetes, which use to be a roadblock as a tool to overcome ALL roadblocks. Now, i work with other people with diabetes to grow and accept themselves. I do think he gave me diabetes so i can complete my mission in life, whatever that may be.. all i know is that is im suppose to help people grow and accept themselves for who they are. I never could have this passion to help people or knowledge of overcoming challenges and accepting myself without diabetes.
