College Students with Diabetes (and people who work in stressful careers)

This group is for anyone who is in college and a diabetic. Some of the topics discussed is how to handle exam stress and blood sugars, college humor, and all things related!

WELCOME!

Whether you are just starting college, almost done with undergrad, or seeking your PhD, this is the place for you. College is a unique atmosphere and adding diabetes to it can make it even more unique! I created this group because the college years can be stressful and generally, there isnt another diabetic within 100 yards from you, and sometimes you just need someone to talk to or seek advice from. All are more than welcome here, even if you are not in college!

I am opening this up to people who work in stressful careers, including parents, since the effects of the stress from college and careers can affect us the same.

I've been a community college student for a while, and now that I'm finally planning on transferring to a bigger school, farther away from home and family, I've been diagnosed with Diabetes. Hoping to find some helpful information here before I depart in August. :)

Hey everyone =) I'm currently pursuing a degree in psych. I'm in the honors program soon to be specialized honors so it's very stressful to keep up with the work sometimes. I always forget to eat and bolus when I'm studying, and I tend to keep my sugars high during exam season. Its a bad habit! I'm doing exams now which prompted me to join this group...Hope to get to know this place better and find some solutions ! =)

Hi all, saw this group and it looked interesting, Im a "born again student" working on my BS in I.T. on top of a pretty stressful career (I manage the enterprise risk assessment program for a fortune 500 company), so always looking for tips and tricks to do all of that and still find time to "manage" diabetes. !

Yeah, this break has been great! I have actually cleaned my house (and kept it clean), been able to eat healthy meals every day -without having to miss meals, exercised daily, slept the correct amount every day, and lost 5 pounds over the past 2 weeks. I just don't know how to keep this up when the semester begins in a week. I really need to try though, because I can't graduate if I am in the hospital.
