TuDiabetes - A Community for People Touched by Diabetes

By following the on-going disucssion about "Discrimination against type 2s??", I have come to the conclusion that this community can be a great forum to educate people about diabetes in general. I see that many of our well-informed members know a lot about their own type of diabetes, but actually have very little information about other types of diabetes. In addition to providing general information (which should be review by some experts), I thought that we could profile a few people with each type of diabetes who write about how diabetes affects their life or how they care for themselves. This would include: Type 1, Type 2, LADA, Gestational, MODY, and other types of diabetes. This could be more comprehensive, informed, and in the words of people living with diabetes. I find the handbooks available online are generally too basic.

What do you think of this? Anyone interested in helping with this project?

Brilliant idea! Sign me up to help.

Agree that what I've seen on-line is generic & also appears to be written by healthcare people & not by PWD living it. Our voices would be more informative.

Thanks, Kristin.

What a great idea! I want to help and to be with you, Kristin. And as Sohair said , it could be tranlated into others languages. Ok, we can write about all types of Diabetes, but we can write a little more about the complications ; some ,like me and many others could talk about because we live with them? What do you think about that? And I find another thing in your great idea: with that "book" all diabetics from all the world could read it and have a better life. So if you want my help, please sign me up .

Kristin, this is a great idea.

What do you guy think family member, partners, friends, etc... "type 3"? I will be very happy to participate, maybe organize some interviews with family member, maybe include some essays about how diabetes affect us?
