Ok, I am not a long-time avid rider, but I am an avid walker/swimmer. So, I have given myself a goal of doing my first triathlon next year (one of the small sprint ones). So, I got a bike from my husband for Christmas and as he knows how much I hate the seats he got me a much more comfortable square seat to at least get me going. So, I am completely confident in the field of swimming/running, but could use some advise from all of you bike pros out there. So, let me have it...the more advise the better!

I don't do competitions but I love hitting the mountain trails. To me that's where the fun is. My husband my 3 year old and myself take the mountain bikes to the ocoee and ride and take nature pics and then we stop for b/s reading and have a little picnic and hit the trail some more. Of course we hook up the toddler trailer to the bike for our 3 year old. He loves it!

We are trying to get more schools involved in a Spin-a-thon program that was originally created by grade 11 students in Vancouver.

Cyclebetes has a school program for elementary and secondary students that builds awareness for diabetes, gets students moving and active, and instils strong values and leadership.

Here's a link for our Secondary School program: http://www.cyclebetes.com/info/info.php?pageID=16
and here's one for Elementary Schools: http://www.cyclebetes.com/schools/schools.php?pageID=23

Schools, teachersa and parents should look at this opportunity.

Simple and fun for everyone.

Check out www.cyclebetes.com for more information and we would love your feedback

Hey Mike,
The Tour de Cure events are a lot of fun, I got to do a handful of them this year. While insulin is a drug I have to take, cycling is my drug of choice. Keep riding.
