I'm on a Windows 8 PC and under that the Dexcom Studio software will not run on it so I'm trying to get the Software running w/VirtualBox and an older Windows OS. I'm having driver issues for with Studio and the VirtualBox using either Windows Vista or Windows 7
If anyone has it working in the environment I'd appreciate some help. Thanks

Permalink Reply by Chas on January 2, 2013 at 7:02am I'd be interested if you find a solution, I cannot get the G4 USB driver to run on my Win 7 loaded on an iMac with VmWare.
Permalink Reply by Hank on January 2, 2013 at 9:23am Will do. Windows 7 (under VM) is not finding the correct device driver for the Dex receiver. Hope to search some more tomorrow.

Permalink Reply by Chas on January 29, 2013 at 12:13am Im running with VMWare and Win 7 with same issues. Have heard that people who use Bootcamp have it working but not tried it myself.
I have SW running perfectly its only the USB that does not work.
Permalink Reply by Hank on January 29, 2013 at 2:26am For those interested in Win 8 and the Studio software I talked with Dexcom again and there is no solution...yet. It does appear to be a USB issue and Dexcoom says they had it working in the Win 8 Beta version.
So why can't they get it working already??? As good as their product is, their software development and problem resolution is terrible
Permalink Reply by Dondi on January 31, 2013 at 1:12pm I Have tried to use the Studio software and ran into difficulty because I am using a Netbook with a 10" screen. Some of the data is off the screen and cannot be seen. If I hook it up to my large screen, it is fine. I reported it to support. I am using the netbook because I have a Mac Mini and it won't work on that without my using windows emulator. Wish it would work with Apple, Dondi
At present, Dexcom is not supporting anything other than virgin, native Win between XP and Win 7. It is a driver issue. The driver will not work in a virtual environment. It is my understanding all software resources at Dexcom are being directed toward a "cloud" based option which will work on all platforms. Hope this helps..... It does work on a virgin, native install of WIN XP SP3 with all updates. It also works with correctly configured Diasend.
Permalink Reply by Chas on January 31, 2013 at 11:49pm Thanks Jay, we discussed Diasend before and its not a universal solution and costly for those who don't have the right pump.
As for Mac users - it looks like Bootcamp is the way to go using Win XP or 7 the virgin SW. Also the cheapest too not needing a virtual SW package too.
