Permalink Reply by Clare on December 27, 2012 at 6:09am I exercise all the time with it, but I don't run. I walk, play tennis (which I suppose you need to run every once in a while) and I ride a stationary bicycle. I keep the receiver in the case that came with it when I exercise. And while the vast majority here hate the case, I have not lost signal once while exercising. Some other folks here swim for exercise and will lose signal in the pool but that is to be expected.
I run with mine every day without losing signal. It's possible that your lost signal during your run was an anomaly? Did your transmitter come off from perspiration? Did you get the signal back? If you lost signal for just a short time and regained it shortly thereafter, I wouldn't worry about it. If your transmitter came off your body I would look at tape/adhesive options.

Permalink Reply by Black Llama on December 27, 2012 at 3:01pm It's not just you. Depending on the level of activity during karate I will loose it for a reading or two. Example, other day we did 100 jumping jacks, followed by burpees, sit ups and push ups. For that entire period I had no readings. As soon as I was not jostling myself around they came back no problem.

This is a known problem, provisionally related to repetitive motion while wearing synthetic clothing over the G4 transmitter.
Permalink Reply by Bram on December 28, 2012 at 5:45pm I am waiting my g4 this week, but with my dexcom 7, I actually use an armband slip that is made for my phone/ipod. Might be how/where you are carying it? I know the g4 is supposed to have an expanded distance, but sometimes I would lose signal when it was in my pocket?
I workout in a gym twice a week. No problems here with G4. My trainer keeps the receiver on his clipboard and monitors closely. I have frequent hypos if CHO ingestion is not well planned and managed.

Maybe try a case? I was just thinking that immediately after getting my G4 I got a case for it that's fabric. Maybe that's why I've never lost signal during runs, walks, biking, etc. My case is girly, but I'll post it here in case any women are interested: http://www.verabradley.com/product/Category/Wallets-and-Wristlets/Z...
You guys will have to find your own :)
