I am a new CGM user (three weeks into my G4) and would like to find a piece of software that make tracking shots and food easy. Android would be the best platform for me, but I'm willing to look at anything that people like. The biggest problem I am trying to solve is carb counting -- an easy-to-use food lookup system would be great. Insulin shot tracking is a secondary need.
Ultimately, I would like to be able to export data and perhaps align events in the log with data from the CGM. I am a database software developer, so I am not looking really hard for a solution here. That said, any experiences others have had would be welcomed.
Thanks.

Permalink Reply by Isaac on February 1, 2013 at 10:56am One of the complaints I have had with my Seven plus, is that I can not see info that I entered. For example I can not look up the last shot I gave myself, time and # of units, on the receiver. (Obviously I can download it later in the software).
Did they fix this in G4?
Permalink Reply by MegaMinxX on February 1, 2013 at 6:22pm No, the G4 Events on the Receiver work the same way. The new Dex Studio software is improved, in that there is a report that shows a daily trend, w/the event details also shown.
The G4 does now show the insertion (sensor start) time, under the Settings-> Device info. This was a good improvement over Seven plus.
For recording insulin, carbs, etc, there are several meters that have that option, and many apps that I've seen discussions on. You can try a search for apps on this site. OnTrack is the only one I tried, but don't currently use.
There is a website www.glucosurfer.org that might be useful. I provided the founder with my system 7 xml data for him to use when he was developing the adapter for Dexcom. I have not used the site, so I do not know if it provides the features you desire.

Shares data live to other carers. Predicts BGLS into the future. Coaches you as to what ratios to change/what to fix - whenever you put in a BGL. Check it out!
