This is my first week using a CGM, with the Dexcom G4.

I inserted my first sensor on Tuesday with a nurse and Dexcom Rep and everything seemed fine.
My numbers have been pretty accurate (they are off sometimes, but the G4 has correctly warned me of hypoglycemia 5 times already... which is the main reason I wanted a CGM) but today I noticed a blood stain under the G4 when I looked in the mirror:

I read the post "Bleeding when inserting new G4 sensor normal?": http://www.tudiabetes.org/group/dexcomusers/forum/topics/bleeding-w...

but was wondering if this was to be expected a few days AFTER insertion... or perhaps this is so little blood that I shouldn't even be worried about it!

Since this is my first CGM experience, I don't really know what is normal or not.

Thanks for any advice!

If it doesn't hurt, I would ignore it.

I have had small amounts of bleeding on my System 7 with no problems. I think it happens if the wire hits a capilary. I have had blood from the canula from my Omnipod pump. Once or twice I had heavy bleeding when I removed the pod. I have never had bleeding when removing a sensor and never noticed a problem with the sensor. If you are concerned, call Dexcom support or see if you can get hold of the nurse who provided training. I have a great endo, but I go to my RN CDE for all things pump and CGM. She is much more knowledgable.

Thanks for the replies. Indeed none of my sensors have hurt much, and upon removal (even after 2 weeks) they have looked fine.
Brad, I completely agree. My endo is awesome, but my RN CDE is a lifesaver for all CGM, pump, Skin-tac, Uni-solve, etc. questions!
