I have been using the IV3000, never tried the Opsite flexiflix! the IV3000 do the job for me!

I've used Opsite Flexifix and Tegaderm. I really like the pre-cut sizes of Tegaderm and the way they have a perimeter piece for putting the tape on makes it easy. That said, I did buy a large roll of Flexifix and have been manually cutting the pieces to size and cutting out a sensor sized hole in the middle.

With Skin-Tac, I so far have been successful in keeping the Flexifix in place for at least a week at a time. I just pulled my latest piece of Flexifix off without removing the sensor and replaced it with a new piece. Sensor is still going strong on day 10.

Anyone care to chime in with what the actual differences may be between the Opsite Flexifix, Tegaderm and the IV3000 besides personal experiences?

Alan

I use the IV3000 with both my dex and my pump. I find they stick very well, and if I do have to replace it, it tends not to stick too strongly to the actual site (insulin cannula or sensor) and can easily be replaced!

Opsite Flexifix works best for me,lasts longest.

Interesting. I haven't noticed a difference, but that's because I'm not paying attention! This is good to know!

Haven't tried the IV3000 but loce the Opsite. Forgot to put some on last sensor and when the sensor adhesive wore off the sensor just went...pomph..and fell off. Prob could have gotten ano week if I'd put on the Opsite. Getting better at putting on the sensors so wasn't too bad. Used to just have a fit with them. Even had to call Dex in the beginning to help get them on me.

Have a great day everyone.

I like the flexifix roll, lets me use it for my sensor(18+ days) and can cut to size easily.
If I really feel the need I can use the roll to get a bigger piece to cover my pump(omnipod).
Price may be an issue also, but, you would have to check with your supplier and figure out the difference.

Flexifix works best for me! :-)

What width in the Flexifix are you getting? The IV3000 is 2 3/8" while the tape is 2" or 4". What adhesive do you use? I have been using Smith&Nephews IV prep but need to order more. What sticks for you?

We use 4" wide Flexifix, round the corners, and cut an oval in the middle for the sensor. We also use a bit of Skin-Tac before putting that on. Usually lasts 2 weeks.

+1...Exactly!
