I just got my Dexcom about 3 months ago per my Endo's advice. I told myself that I would give it 3 months & if my A1c has improved significantly, I would keep it-otherwise, I would scrap it. Well...my A1c went from 8.2 to 7.1 in 3 months!!!! I must admit, as much as I hated being hooked to another machine, I've come to like & even depend on the Dexcom. Anyway, just thought I'd share some good news!

Glad to hear it! I've had mine for exactly one week today, and was just debating flushing it. It gets better huh? Where do you have best luck placing sensors?

Congrats!

Awesome!

Sam, I hated mine at first as well. I'm an Omni Pod gal because I don't like having to be attached to things. Trust me when I say, It grows on you! Now, if I don't have it on for a couple hours or a day, i feel so uninformed. As for placement, the only places I have tried are my stomach & my arm. Both worked well for me. Hang in there! If nothing else, the results are worth the inconvenience!

I've just not very accurate results with my first one-- which is on my stomach. It often alarms "LOW" as in less than 40 and dropping fast, when in actuality I'm rock steady at 90. It wakes me up saying low all night, when I'm not, etc... Sometimes it is pretty accurate though... Hopefully the next sensor works better, I think I'll try it on my arm

Sam, my upper thigh has been pretty good, the insertion was painfree and absolutely no discomfort!

The idiots who proposed gut and idiots who approved that site should be shot.

Move it to a place which provides better answers. If I had left that on gut I would have shot them as well. Body physiology demonstrates why.

Finger tips best; arms next, thighs etc. Forget the gut - useless.

Dexcom persists in being its own worst enemy.
