Dexcom Users

For users of a Dexcom Continuous Glucose Monitoring ("CGM") device

Just as a reminder with the recent release of the new Dexcom G4 to the US market--it is NOT okay to post about previous models or older sensors as being 'for sale' on this site.

It is a violation of the Terms of Use because it is a prescription device, and any such efforts will unfortunately be removed.

We encourage you to donate supplies to non-profits such as the Charles Ray III Diabetes Association (http://www.cr3diabetes.org), which accepts unexpired glucometer and insulin pump supplies, or alternatively you may talk to your physician's office or other local medical group to discuss donating them to those in need of assistance.

Thank you all for kindly refraining from this activity.

Hi - I understand that some people have had trouble getting their CGM covered by Medicare? Do any of you have Medicare and what’s the story? Thanks - Mike

Well I think I have solved my Dexcom conundrum and the solution was to read and follow the instructions in the Green Book 3.5 . I had omitted the vital step after inserting the sensor of retracting the needle so I was withrawing the sendor still attached to the needle. A stupid and expensive blunder.

Various people have had different experiences bringing Dex back from the ???. Mine has come back by itself on occasion. In my experience, though, if it is more than a week old, it is often an indication that its useful life is over.

Kate - WTG! Gives great readings for me, and lasts up to 3 weeks. Playing with my upper/inner arm now, and the readings are awesome. The only problem is I need someone willing to do it for me as I can't reach myself. Took advantage of family at Thanksgiving ;)

I haven't gotten mine even though I had the email and confirmation and all. But it did say it could be 2 to 4wks. Hope I get it.
