For users of a Dexcom Continuous Glucose Monitoring ("CGM") device
Just as a reminder with the recent release of the new Dexcom G4 to the US market--it is NOT okay to post about previous models or older sensors as being 'for sale' on this site.
It is a violation of the Terms of Use because it is a prescription device, and any such efforts will unfortunately be removed.
We encourage you to donate supplies to non-profits such as the Charles Ray III Diabetes Association (http://www.cr3diabetes.org), which accepts unexpired glucometer and insulin pump supplies, or alternatively you may talk to your physician's office or other local medical group to discuss donating them to those in need of assistance.
Thank you all for kindly refraining from this activity.

Comment by jrtpup on January 9, 2012 at 10:43am Don't remember the name. They came in a pack with 4 locators and one remote, fairly inexpensive. The locators are color coded as are the buttons on the remote. It's saved my a** many times LOL
I'll look on Amazon and post if I find them.
Really? You may be the answer to my prayers! Do you know the name of it?

Comment by jrtpup on January 9, 2012 at 9:11am I got some locator thingies from Amazon for my dex. They work great if you're within about 10 feet, so I just walk around the house pressing the button LOL. A white case would be nice.
After searching many, many times for my Dexcom which seems to blend in with Everything(!) cause it has a grey color, I'm going to get a bright pink or yellow cover and then I'm going to install a locator button on it so it beeps loudly, so I don't lose my mind! LOL

Comment by jrtpup on December 30, 2011 at 11:48am I cut 4 strips for the edges, too cheap to use enough to make it with a template ;)
Comment by Colleen in NH on December 30, 2011 at 11:46am Jennifer - nope - no tape over the sensor.
Here's one way...
http://dmeanderings.wordpress.com/2011/12/18/about-the-dexcom/
It is ok to put Opsite Flexifix tape over the sensor?
I was told any amount of Tylenol will throw it off. I forgot once and had readings just like your, e.g., it read in the300's when I was really in the 140's.
Comment by Carolyn A. on December 20, 2011 at 7:47pm How much tylenol does it take to throw it off? Does it make it go high or low? Anyone?
Comment by john on December 20, 2011 at 7:41pm Thanks for all the feedback. I really appreciate it. I had called Dexcom Support but got the impression that it must have been something I was doing wrong. But, it looks like that was a load of rubbish. The dexcom rep also told me that the demo unit was an older unit, and may have been nearing the end of its' life? Which I find questionable, as it was a demo, presumably intended to exhibit its desireability??
From this I deduce that the dexcom is somewhat of a general guide, but is not a dependable item at this point in its' evolution.
It was worth a try thought, I learned a lot. Thanks to all who gave me their input.
