For users of a Dexcom Continuous Glucose Monitoring ("CGM") device
Just as a reminder with the recent release of the new Dexcom G4 to the US market--it is NOT okay to post about previous models or older sensors as being 'for sale' on this site.
It is a violation of the Terms of Use because it is a prescription device, and any such efforts will unfortunately be removed.
We encourage you to donate supplies to non-profits such as the Charles Ray III Diabetes Association (http://www.cr3diabetes.org), which accepts unexpired glucometer and insulin pump supplies, or alternatively you may talk to your physician's office or other local medical group to discuss donating them to those in need of assistance.
Thank you all for kindly refraining from this activity.

if we try too hard to understand, leads too much stress. ...just do the best you can do in the moment and let it go! take in all ths great knowledge from others and support of our Tu friends....makes it easier for sure.
my doc lways says....Youre doing great! My A1Cs are 6.5 on average and I feel like I am not doing great at all. we are often harder on ourselves than we need to be given its such an in exact science..
Comment by daricel on February 6, 2012 at 2:10pm And of course, it depends on how your day went at work also... One thing the Dexcome does is tell me when I need to calm down
Comment by metheniac on February 6, 2012 at 2:08pm I know what you mean Doug. My lows go into the 40's and 50's and are scary. Sometimes I will eat the EXACT same meal two days in a row, take the same amount of insulin, and have very different effects! So yes, you must look at other aspects besides food, insulin etc. My doc keeps telling me that it often has to do with where your numbers have been over the past few days. I must have a tiny brain also LOL.

Comment by daricel on February 6, 2012 at 1:58pm I get the fat thing... Unfortunately low fat diet for a long period of time didn't help either... I think I'm just wierd LOL
Comment by metheniac on February 6, 2012 at 1:54pm Brett - an A1C of 5.8 is my dream! Congratulations! Like you, when I go low, I take the glucose tabs, wait a while and then I get really nervous so I sometimes will eat something - TROUBLE. Then I rebound!
Comment by daricel on February 6, 2012 at 1:42pm Tried Novolog, tried Apedra, tried Humilog. I too have the eat = 200+ then drop a couple of hours later. One of the things I have though is gastroparesis... Nothing digests at the same rate. We tried going on strict gastroparesis diet, but that cause other issues... I hope changing insulins works for you!
I just love you guys! I always learn so much, thanks for sharing! (still learning newbie)
Comment by Scott on February 6, 2012 at 1:13pm Apidra was the answer for my daughter's insulin issues. http://www.ardensday.com/main/2011/2/2/apidra-v-novolog.html
