For users of a Dexcom Continuous Glucose Monitoring ("CGM") device

Just as a reminder with the recent release of the new Dexcom G4 to the US market--it is NOT okay to post about previous models or older sensors as being 'for sale' on this site.

It is a violation of the Terms of Use because it is a prescription device, and any such efforts will unfortunately be removed.

We encourage you to donate supplies to non-profits such as the Charles Ray III Diabetes Association (http://www.cr3diabetes.org), which accepts unexpired glucometer and insulin pump supplies, or alternatively you may talk to your physician's office or other local medical group to discuss donating them to those in need of assistance.

Thank you all for kindly refraining from this activity.

Anyone have experience with Edgepark and the G4? I was cleared for both the Omnipod and G4 last week. The Omni system is already here, however my G4 has a status of pending and when I check the status it states "Your order has been picked from the warehouse and will ship tomorrow". Of course, it has said thins since 11/13....

Stop playing with it just wait until Wednesday. I am on my cruise right now, and the Dexcom has been fantastic. No problems getting through the airport at all. Did not turn it off on the plane and my only fear is that I could lose the received somewhere. Make sure you put a label on the receiver that states "medical device" if found please return to your name, or phone number, it will just add an extra layer of protection - I have to say it is easy to get addicted to the instant information and fun to watch the line going down while I exercise, positive reinforcement.

OK, so I read that it should be grey when it's charged (why do they show that fully charged "green" battery when you start charging then?? Goodness ... I think I need to stop playing with it & wait until we meet with the Dexcom rep./trainer on Wednesday.

HELP! Our new G4 doesn't appear to be charging. We've been charging it since 8 a.m. (now 11 a.m.) and the lightning bolt isn't filling with green to indicate that it's charging. It DID vibrate when I plugged it in ... ugh! :(

I have used the Dex4 for 2 1/2 days and so far love just about everything about it. You can customize alarms for lows and highs, and everything in between. You can have it just buzz or makes noise. It's small discrete and I had some training today with the Dexcom trainer. She was very nice, but to be honest didn't teach me anything I haven't learned here already. I did you download the software and there are some sweet graphs with it. Dex4 has a range of 20' where the 7 I think was far less. Since I am a new user of any type of device, I can say it was easy and painless to apply, the data I am getting compares fairly closely with my glucometers. And I got 7.5 hours of sleep last night which is the most I have had in an eternity.

What are useability differences between the Dexcom4 and the
Dexcom 7 plus? Is the user interface of the receivers very different? I hear that you cannot customize alarms for low blood sugars.....Any insights would be appreciated.

My initial thoughts on the DexCom G4 can be found in my TU blog section. Hope you are all well!

I have been MIA and been hearing now about. New sensor and system of dexcom? I have the old everything. How do I upgrade and get the new sensors and reciever!?!!

I'm going on day 4 with my new G4. As everyone else has said very accurate is no lie. Even with my roller coaster line it stays within 2-10 of a FS. The smaller receiver is almost non existent in my pocket so I skipped the belt clip and toss it in my pocket. I think it is easier to feel the buzz of a low right there close to my thigh in my pocket. The sensor is a bit taller but poses no problems. I have never had any issues with the tape sticking to me so I can't speak to that but after about 6 showers, 4 sweaty work out sessions it's stuck as if it were on the first day. I did experience a bit of pain with the site on my first 24 hours but it went away and I can't even tell it's in there even when I roll over on it during the night. Also the extended range of the receiver is really key for me. I can keep it in my bag, turn the alerts on sound instead of vibrate and I can hear it chirping away if a fast drop is sensed from all the way across my company's gym. The room is about 30x20 and my bag is hug on a hook on the wall all the way at one end. So in short, it's awesome and I am loving it and the courage it gives me to stick in the gym and give 200% during workouts and really push myself to the limits. Battery life for me is awesome as well. On day 5 now and I have over 3/4 battery left.
