Thanks for that link, Santiago. Looks like a good resource – I'll be checking out the broadcasts! Another place I go for inspiration and study is this site for the Insight Meditation Center in Redwood City, CA:

http://www.audiodharma.org/

You can listen to or download free MP3s of hundreds of talks by teachers in many different traditions. I listen to them on the iPod during exercise – each talk is about 40 minutes, which for me is a good amount of time to walk, bike, run on the treadmill, etc. ...

Great group, I've been meditating for about 10 years (mostly Zen, also Kundalini Yoga) and I don't know what my life would be without it, there's nothing like waking up.

Gassho.

Hi Dharma Ds my name is Anthony I am glad I found this group because I know how much positive minfulness and medatation helps your body with all sorts of issues. I have spent years studying Zen and Taoist medatations as well as philosophy. I have used both of these in my martial arts training as well and they do work. The mind is a powerfull thing and if used right can be your biggest allie in your/our fight against diabetes.

Have done yoga most of my life off and on. I learned yoga (hatha) from my mom...it was not until I became an adult that I found meditation. I find it calms me and centers me like nothing else. It is something I always come back to...like an old friend.

Hi Dharma D's! I saw an interesting movie this weekend, "Enlighten Up!" A documentary filmmaker, Kate, decides to take a yoga novice and put him through six months of yoga training to see if he is transformed. It is a good movie! I think the filmmaker makes the mistake of tossing the poor guy into a too advanced class to begin with, and also Kate practices Ashtanga yoga and pushes Novice Yogi Guy towards that (he finds it cultish). I definitely recommend the movie--ultimately Yogi Guy's insights are profound.

I am new to yoga and meditation, but I am finding it very helpful to calm my mind and to deal better with stress and acceptance of all that I can not control.

After watching Melissa's video about how to follow conversations in groups, I hope to keep up with what's written here, and hope everyone saw the video and will do more discussion!

There are many practices one can do. What is considered a "dharma" traditional practice???
