I have been experiencing bad hypoglycemia unawareness and have not been able to get my insurance to pay for CGMS but i am not giving up yet. I had done some research about service dogs for my condition. I have read that it help tremendously. I had a car accident i don't remember, 3 or 4 visits with the local EMS, wandered around my works parking garage for several hours before someone called me and they asked me to test my blood sugar and passed out at work. I have tried running my blood sugars higher at my doctors request which i could not do. I just tend to be in normal range and bottom out quickly. I test over 10 times a day and every time i drive now. I still don't catch all my low blood sugars. I wanted to hear about some of your experiences with your service dogs. I have apply to two places to see if can get a dog to help with my situation. Any advice would be appreciated. I feel like i have lost all my freedoms. I am afraid to drive, exercise, go out with friends and have my old active lifestyle.
