Amen. Definitely worth the insulin. And I say that even if I was still taking shots and not on the pump.

I didn't know that Diabetics and Beer was a team -- or at least I thought I was the only member. After 45 years of diabetes and at least one or two beers along the way, I'm glad to see there is a group to talk with. I'm with Robert - we need a tax break, being such a special group. Oh yeah, is there a Diabetics and Beer and Harley group?

Proof once more that diabetes, beer and bicycling go together: I picked up a brochure from the local Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at the Seattle Bike Expo this weekend, and it talked about groups of local Northwest riders teaming up and training to ride in one of the national JDRF rides across the country. Sounds cool, but I noticed the list of local sponsors across the bottom of the brochure includedMac & Jack's Brewing Co.! I may not ride in one of the big JDRF rides this summer but now I have a new beer to patronize.

Diabetic beer enthusiasts, we are growing in numbers here, we could become a formidable political force soon !
Tax breaks for us all ? A happy diabetic must be good news for the health systems !!

LOL that reminded me of my younger days as well, my "buzz of choice" was the big slurpee usually cherry, filled about halfway, then topped off with smirnoff. Its a wonder i have any liver left.

I've definatly slowed down a lot, but when I was an undergrad I was a little out of control with the boozin'. I had my own special drinks such as a real favorite by the ladies I called Teak Juice. Take a 2 liter bottle of diet 7-up pour down to the top of the label, pour in two packets of tropical punch kool aid and fill the rest with vodka :). I'll have to say my numbers did suffer for a while until I figured out what worked and didn't..... I still enjoy a night out once in a while, I guess I left keeping WVU as the number one party school to the younger students.............

Ahh....Mirror Pond. I can't wait for the summer Twilight Ale and my annual trip to Bend so I can hang out at the brewery.
