I have Addison's disease as well as having diabetes.

My son has congenital adrenal hyperplasia (congenital form of Addisons). I was told by his endocrinologist (Dr. Maria New in NYC) that the two diseases are incompatible, that he would never get diabetes, and they were pretty surprised that I, his mother, had T1. I guess that was the old school point of view and this is new?

I was 16 when diagnosed with Type 1, and I had a Slow growing Pheochromocytoma, of my Left Adrenal Gland. I was told by the ENDO that My Diabetes would go away,, yeah right, it didn't. But they removed my Left Adrenal Gland in 1998..So does having it cause this, having it removed didn't change anything except make my BS climb and Climb over the yrs.
