TuDiabetes - A Community for People Touched by Diabetes

Ok, its almost summer and the stores are flooded with cute, comfy, fashionable sun dresses and I have this urge to buy way more than could fit in my closet. At least until I remember the "bulge" and I'm not talking about the extra bit of padding in the tummy.

If you have a pump, you know what I'm talking about. Where the heck is that life-saving device going to go? Should I go for the tri-boob look, the poopy pants look, or the ever popular almost time for a hip replacement look?
Which look is your summer time favorite?

And more importantly, does anyone know of a fashion designer who it taking this issue head on?

If you have pump pockets sewn into your dresses, do you find your dress pulling more to the side your pump is on?

I usually wear bike shorts under my skirts and dresses and slip the pump down close to my inner thigh. This way it is easy to access to bolus under the table instead of pulling my pump out of my shirt when I wear it in my bra-which I have done many a time-even while riding the subway.

I just recently had my bachelorette party and was wearing a particularly scandalous dress and I put my pump inside my Madonna-esque lace stalkings (we went to the Awesome 80s Prom) in the crease between my thigh and crotch basically. It worked for the night, but I wouldn't recommend it if you need easy access to your pump.

I also have a garter type thing that I got 8 years ago when I originally went on the pump to wear around my thigh but I found that it kept slipping down.

I found a few websites that have some more ideas:

I have never bought any of these products, but I thought I would share what I found!

Check out Diabetes mine! www.diabetesmine.com She discussed women's issues and has a picture of a mannequin with a garter pump holder with a strap around the waist!! Hilarious, but it might be the most secure option for being invisible with a dress! hahaha.
