Ketones and menstruation
I was surprised that I tested for large ketones (>80 mg/dl).
I am on an insulin pump -- so I immediately changed my infusion set and gave a correction injection. Nothing appeared to be wrong with my infusion set. Now I'm trying to figure out why I might have such large ketones and not such high blood sugars.
Does anyone know whether starting menstruation can cause ketones?

Now just a few hours later, I tested negative for ketones. Perhaps the large bolus and change of infusion set was the solution?
Still puzzled why my blood sugar wasn't higher if I was truly insulin deficient.
