Ladies

Anyone have any idea if hot flashes affects the potency of humlog insulin. The ladies at Curves call them power surges and then energy drainers. I have 2-3 in the morning, 2-3 in the afternoon and 1-2 in the evening and 2-3 in the night. I sweat so badly at night I have to change my gown about three times a night. I have noticed after the second day I have to change the insulin or the site. I am now trying to change the insulin to see if that helps. My blood sugars raise about 30 points after each power surge. Any ideas. How long to these go on it has been almost a year?

I thought I might mention that I have lost the 30 pounds that I started gaining when I started premenopausal symptoms by working out a curves for 45 minutes 3-5 times a week. It helps clear the mind and does wonders for the blood sugars. I also started walking Ducky (my darling pup) every morning for 30 minutes and in the evening 45 minutes. Keeps us both in shape. Not sure how I going to do it this winter here in Colorado.

Firstly, sleep naked. It's liberating. Secondly, keep in mind that your meter readings can fluctuate by up to 50 points. I'd bring this up to your doctor, especially if the hot flashes are causing trouble with your sites. Good luck!
