Hi,

I just wanted to let anyone using a wheelchair, powerchair, scooter or rollator, know that I have created a new support group on Facebook, just for people with disabilities.

Those of us who have difficulties with walking or who can't walk anymore, face a special challenge. The communities we live in are not set up to be accessible. This group is meant to help us vent our frustration, find solutions, and share what works for us.

Its a closed group, meaning that you can't see posts unless you are a member, and membership must be requested. There will be NO advertising allowed. If anyone here would like to join, you can find it at this page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/wheeleez/ Hope to see you there.

PS. this is not just for diabetics, its for anyone with this type of disability, so if you have a family member that might benefit, let them know about it.

i have multipe diabilties the inclould: very mild crebral palsy, bi-polar disorder, cronic depression & veryous unknow intellectual disabliities. i fall under the other types of diabetes as i have hypoglycemia only and not the highs that go with t1 & t2 diabetes

You are an inspiration and a hero! I cant beleive your wife was so weak, I am so fortunate to have a real source of strength, and she stands by me everyday. I am no picnic, I dont have MS but a host of other $%#^. Stay strong! You ROCK!

I have Relapsing remitting Multiple sclerosis and also a Type 1 diabetic currently

I am a type 1 diabetic for the last 44 years I am 47 now living in Philadelphia. I am on the Medtronic pump for the last 4 years. I have also had relapsing remitting Multiple Sclerosis for the last 4 years. Wife walked out on me 1 1/2 years ago. I am currently liing alone with my 2 dogs. Family ois some what close. I am on Medacare and working part time and collecting disability. My Diabetic Dr. is Neil Strisfeld

Hust joined this group...been on disability for 6 mos now, disability was due too diabetic retinopathy, my eyes woudl hemmorhage every six mos like clockwork, in 2005 I had a paralizing sltroke/brain hemmorhage, also disabling case of "diabetes related menieres disease" (anyone ever hear of that?)(I haven't ...until I had too) I know.....alot of crap, huh? I'm deaf I have heart disease and neurapathy from my hips to my feet I was dx type 2 ten months ago

Hello! Obviously I'm new to this particular diabetic group. Along with Type II diabetes, I have Chronic Veinous Stasis Leg Ulcers, Chronic Necrotizing Pneumonia, and can get C-diff and MRSA at the drop of a hat. After losing almost 1/3 of my lung capacity last year, I am now on Oxygen. Oh, I'm also deaf in my left ear, and don't have any balance due to an Army accident, MANY years ago. Is that enough to get in this group? lol

Hi all just joined this group. I was dxd with the big D in 97 and was controllin it with just diet n excercise but in 98 my mom passed and she was the only other close family member that had diabetes that stressed me out so bad i couldnt control my sugars anymore so i went on glocophage and some anti depression meds. so in 98 i got pancreatitis and it all went down hill from there. i fell in the 20 % that never recover wholly from it so my doctors disabled me due to it and now uncon trolled diabetes...I am now on a pump and just taking it one day at a time...
