Hi - I'm Type II and following a low carb diet. Any tips on what type of milk to have and why. I was using skim milk but was informed that the lactose content was greater than that in regular milk. Thanks, Stephanie
Hi Stephanie---I love unsweetened original almond milk---there are a couple brands that are good. I also add a dollop of heavy cream with the almond milk on my blueberries (the only fruit I can eat). It is also good in cooking and baking.........
I use Hood Calorie Countdown (not the Fat Free version) - It's only 3 g carb in 8 oz and it's very rich and smooth; also comes in chocolate. Love it for my protein drinks. It's now available almost everywhere - even WalMart.
I can't use soy milk - not good for folks with hypothyroidism
