I had that one too Marie! Funny how we done things then huh? I remember all the things they had there.
Had that one too. I wish I had kept the stuff through the years.
This book is what I left the hospital with back in '82. They gave me two copies. I still have them both.

Yeah, I like to look at visuals on the disease. A lot of the emaciated people I do block prints from come from the era of the starvation treatment. I wish there were more.

Very Cool. Thanks for the images. ...I hope you didn't also save that orange they made you practice injections with. ~<:-D

Photo of me while in hospital. October 1982.

Unfortunately they're all family. I remember a few good looking nurses, though. My oldest sister had on this Pac Man t-shirt. Incidentally, Pac Man just turned thirty. He's a little older than I am in diabetic years. Yeah, being in the hospital was a weird experience. I still think they let somebody else loose, like Dr. Frankenstein's monster. I'm a bastard still lookin' for my creator.
Lucky you - you got to be in the children's ward. We didn't have one close enough when I was diagnosed in '68 - so I was in the old farts group (6 to a room). I was coddled alot because of being so young, since everyone else was Type 2 on the floor I was residing on (for 2 weeks while they tried to figure out an insulin regime for me).
Here's a shot of me--I think before my incarceration in the hospital. Notice the ET t-shirt.
