I just moved to Arlington from College Station where I had a pretty substantial group of diabetics to get together with. I don't know very many people up here (and absolutely no PWDs) so if anyone is up for starting some meetups (or if there are already ones going) that'd be great!

My old group would get together to chat every now and then, volunteer, as well as do fun stuff like bowling or movies. I'm fine with coordinating the group as long as people are interested :)

This group has monthly meetings at Fifty50 Pharmacy HQ in Carrollton:

They might be interested in participating in some social activity you propose.
I am in! My son and sister are both type 1. My sister is 26 and my son is 5. Let me know if you have any more takers! P.S. We are in Arlington/Mansfield as well...Thanks,

Joe
Great! We can definitely something to include the kiddos too if you want/need. I know babysitters can be hard when you've got the D. Does your sister live around here as well?
Depending on the time and place, I would be interested as well. I love bowling, though have not done so in a few years. That would probably provide a better opportunity for socializing than a movie.
Ya! We'll do several things! I am thinking once or twice a month just whenever anybody can come. Some of my previous groups were pretty small. I'm trying to gather a few more people, so please spread the word if you don't mind!
The meeting we had at Fifty-50 last week was supposed to be a meeting where we got new ideas and suggestions but no one seemed to have any. But I could put in the movie or bowling suggestion. I have found speakers for the last year but some meetings to socialize would be a lot of fun.

If anyone is interested in coming to our meetings you can see the info at our website www.dfw-iug.org or you can show up at Fifty-50 pharmacy at 7:00 pm (next one will be held Nov 2nd). The address is 1420 Valwood Parkway, Suite 205, Carrollton 75006
Thanks for the information! I think I'm still gonna set up meetings for the Arlington area since we'll be focused mostly on the social/support aspect of it. No reason why we can't have 2 meetups for the metroplex! I'll try to make the next meeting you guys have, might be out of town though.
Due to no/low response, we're going to try again in a couple of weeks. It will be another week night most likely. In Arlington or Fort Worth.
