Hi Debbie - Where in Texas are you from. I live in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. If only we could get cooler summers...LOL
The heat kills me each year and it appears as I get older it gets worse. My favorite areas of Texas are the hill country and around the Davis Mountains. Texas has so much to offer people it all depends on what they like and how far they are willing to travel and you don't have to go to far to meet some really great people.

Hi Lisa,
I live in a small town called Borger, it is about 50 miles from Amarillo and most noted for its refineries and oil production. I have a few friends in Dallas and some in Arlington. I go there quite often to visit. I love that area. I don't think the summers are gonna ever get cooler and I dont think the WIND is ever gonna quit blowing!,,,Today its like blowing 45 with gusts up to 55-60! So its time for a haircut!,,lol. Very nice to meet you.

Hi Debbie, I know right where Borger is I have some friends their. I love going to Pala Duro Canon. What missed spelled words? not my strong subject ether. I live in McKinney ablut half way between Dallas and Sherman. We love camping and do alot of it in Bonham and Denison. Think we are going to Canon around the first of April. I am with you some local get togethers would be nice. But as you and Lisa talked about Texas is a big place. Would love to meet you some time when you come to the Dallas area.

Hi Andy!
Well Borger being the small place that it is,,,I'm sure I know your friends. Was born and raised here except for a year living in Irving and Garland. My friends are all in the medical profession that live in Dallas and Arlington and most of them work at Baylor. A wonderful hospital. I enjoy my time there very much! So much to do. As a matter of fact I was in Arlington when we had the terrible Space Shuttle incident. We heard and felt the whole thing. So terribly sad. The Amarillo airport was renamed Rick Husband in honor of him losing his life on that shuttle. His wife and kids still live there. The Canyon is very pretty,,,but hot hot hot down there! If you have never seen the play Texas at the canyon then you should! It is wonderful! Set against the walls of the canyon done at night,,Its spectacular!. I certainly would be up for a meet the next time i come down! Are you going to the San Antonio conference? I'm almsot thinking that the Dallas area is likely to be a common meeting place for all,,,,,,,but if your like me,,,I dont mind traveling and seeing new places...We could make a map and show all the places we had meets!...would be fun!

Hello everyone. I live in Dallas and have lived in the Dallas area all my life. Well actually I have lived in just about every suburb in the area. :-) I honestly cant imagine living anywhere else. Texas has everything, especially friendly people. My favorite thing used to be all the malls. Hey I'm a woman so I LOVE shopping. But neuropathy and multiple sclerosis have taken most of my ability to walk so these days I shop online, lol.

Hi Anngelia,,,nice to meet you. I think us Texans will agree with what you said. I'm sorry to learn of your neuropathy and MS I know its tough! We should all probably lean on each other and discuss all the side effects and the impact that Diabetes has had on all of us. Thats what this community is great for and I know they have helped me immensly! You go girl,,,,i'm right there on that shopping myself!

If your legally blind how do you drive? I think if you should ever get in an accident your insurance would not cover you. Especially if someone was to die because of it.

Places I Love From Texas

Okay some people say that LAREDO is the biggest DUMB place in the whole Texas but they are wrong.
I love how Laredo is a mixed culture we have both the American culture & Mexican culture
so close.
I also love that we are the only city in the U.S that celebrates George Washington's Birthday *BIG TIME*
Its a week long!!...or maybe 2.
Many famous people also are from LAREDO =)
*Ladies well girls =)
Who like the boy band Menudo
there's a guy there that went to school with me =)
Graduated in the same class
and woow no one would of thought he would become that big =) *
So many artist too !
well n-e how
I Also love San Antonio & Corpus Cristy. I love the beach so much & at nights it has the greatest view.
Or when the sun is rising it looks beautiful.

I believe that Texas is a multicultural state with friendly & caring people =)
I wouldnt change it not even for my Home State Cali
