I have decided that it is time to get this 60 lbs. off. I'm depressed and feel fat and ugly. That said--I have put together a diet plan with the help of my DE and an exercise plan with the help of my son. I am having trouble following it this week and probably most of next week because I am also doing basal testing for my doc. But, if I can eat the way I am supposed to for the meals that I CAN eat, maybe I'll do alright. The exercise thing is more difficult because I can't exercise when I can't eat or change basals temporarily. I know that I eat to reduce stress--which raises stress--which makes me eat...... You get the picture. I'm hoping that this will work for me in a more permanent way. I have used diabulimia before and that caused gastroparesis. Gastroparesis has had several times that it got bad enough that I lost 40 lbs. That's a hard way to go. But it is all back and then some. Any ideas?

I understand about the emotional eating. I do that all the time. That is why I am at the point that I am. I am trying to get started on things, but there seems to be something coming up all the time. At least I am doing better on the diet part. I have had 2 days that I have been under the carb max for my diet.

Basals are what the pump gives you to hold you in the correct range when you are not eating at all. It is like the long acting insulin from injections.

Have you tried to find a cheap twin stroller? That would help keep the walks more beneficial for you. Keep me posted.

Ya know---sometimes a walk is beneficial if you just get out of the house and into the world. Nature can have a calming affect. I hear that those jogging strollers are great. I see mothers out with them all the time. I can't imagine trying to jog with one of the old strollers. Aren't these the ones with the one big wheel in the front? They look weird (to this OLD mom anyway), but they get the job done. We don't get snow down here. Well, that's not true----the other day we woke up to about an inch on the ground, but by noon it was gone. Still cold though. Have you come up with any ideas for snacks that don't raise the blood sugars too much, but fill the feeling of needing to munch? Some say popcorn, but it's hard to eat without butter. lol What about your ideas. Do you think that would help with the overeating due to emotional stuff? Let me know what you come up with. Talk to you soon.

Smiles,
Marcie
