Eating perfectly all day then at night we just cant stop eating.  One trip after another until I get my High on. I am tempted to blame it on the act of watching TV. What do you think? This happens to me and I have learned that we are all a like. You have heard the OA: the "I" cant do it but the "WE" can. What do you think?

Randym, I do fall in this mess. Have been like this too,too long. I have come to realize that I really can't contrral this "Night Time Compulsive Eating" on my own. I've found a list of OA meetings in my area and do plan to attend.I am going to give The We Can Do IT TOGETHER " a coserted effort. You speak of a High, Ashamed to say, at times, I feel as if,I'm going to pass out. This tells me something is seriously wrong. It seems that I get toxic. BG#''s go thoough the ceiling. Can't be good. Pete
The biggest question to myself is really how much of my life do I really wont to change. Could i give up tv if i deemed it responsible for the eating. I also have (i think) abandonment issues and im unconsoiusly feeling alone when im watching tv.
Im still learning how to navigate this site. Sorry if i repeat somthing but I thought i left a message here Pete but i dont see it, ill try to add it again. (I might not have hit the Add Reply button
Do lyou go above 500? BG
This is common and not TV. Many people have periods of the day where they are "hungry" more. Like you, my problem is after 7 pm. i can go all day without eating and I don't miss it - until 7 pm rolls around, then I can eat anything in sight and never be satiated.
Four things that help me are 1) never start eating! I don't allow myself to eat anything after 6:30 pm ever for any reason (except hypoglycemia) and 2) keep the blood sugars as low as possible after 6 pm. Once my blood glucose gets above 140, I feel hungry. 3) distraction - and TV doesn't do it. Something else that distracts you from food.
The final thing that has made all the difference in the world to me is symlin - don't know if that's an option for you.
Randym, I have attended my 5th OA meeting and have eaten only 3 modest meals a day. My BG# have not exceeded 127 during this peroid.I am much less preoccupied by thoughts of eating and satisfied with what I eat. I can't remember when I last ate like a normal person. Consider going to Overeaters Annonymous.com and follow the search provided to find meetings in your oun area. Let me know how it goes. Best to you,Pete
