Hello!
I am a dancer from England, and i work for Carnival Cruise Lines. Its been a rough couple of mnths and i just came out of being hospitalised since Saturday and have just been newly diagnosed with diabetes although as yet it is unsure which type I have. Im in the grey area inbetween them both. I take my insulin injection by myself for the first time tonight. :-S Wish me luck! Glad to have found this group! x

I'm Type 2 since (2008) and have a swing dance venue in southern maryland. Swing dancing does help with Type 2. Dallas

Hello everyone,
I'm a ballet dancer at the Montgomery Ballet Company and I just got diagnosed type 1 diabetes. So I'm super new! Another friend of mine told me about this group and I'm so happy to have found other diabetic dancers. It's nice to have others like me to connect with.

I don't know about the cause of your toe problems because I'm a rather newish diabetic, but I do know the solution. There is this foam tape by Nextel that is tan colored and stretchy. My dd wraps it around her toes for pointe work. I thought I broke my toe because it was so painful, but I taped my toes together this am, and went off to ballet class.

I just began dancing ballet last year and i've noticed that on thecorner of my big toe's nail has become very sore and sensative(exspecially when dancing and pointing). I've tried cutting the nail different, not to deep, straight across, stuff like that.. but nothing has helped.

Has anyone experienced this? and do you think this has something to do with mty diabetes and feet?
