Welcome to the Group!

We diabetics have to focus so much of our energy and time into our daily care, that it's nice to be able to just dive into something that lets us forget about our woes at least for a little bit. I noticed that there wasn't a group yet started for those of us here that like to knit or crochet. So I started this one. I'm really looking forward to sharing patterns, projects and ideas with other kntters here.

Just wanted to share that I've started a new project! I've had pregnancy induced carpal tunnel syndrome, so I wasn't sure I could physically handle knitting...my baby is 6 weeks old now, and although my thumbs and wrists still hurt - I've decided to *slowly* knit a seamless kimono sweater for my daughter. I'm using a periwinkle/purple bamboo/acrylic yarn. It won't be finished for awhile, but I'll let you know how it turns out!

The afghan pattern is ridiculously easy....such nice results with so little effort. Be sure to use some yarn like Red heart's Baby Clouds...it's super soft!! I now have 6 pair of those special order needles. Their maker puts love in his work.

Yes - I had noticed Janice's beautiful needles (like artwork). They must glide thru' wool so smoothly - you cannot beat wood needles - click, click, click (that is such a soothing noise when I'm knitting). I also just noticed the instructions for Janice's afgan - gasp - on my next sailing trip (3 weeks in Sept) - guess what I'm going to be making!!!

The Ebony and King Wood needles are made by special request...ask for the Brittany tops. The needles on the right are cardinal Wood and are the standard tops. Beautiful indeed.

The needles are beautiful... Hmmm, I just might have to order some of my own. I have dozens of pairs of needles, but none like that!

It's me again...just received a pair of beautifully crafted knitting needles from Books Yarn and More....http://www.booksyarnmore.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=BYAM&Category_Code=MtMtnExoticsTulipwood14SP They are absolutely gorgeous in Tulip wood. I immediately got a project started on them...wonderful!!! I was/am so impressed with them that this morning I placed an order for some in ebony, cardinal wood and kingwood. Take a look. I spoke with the gentleman, Sam, who makes each pair, and told him to make sure that he puts love into my needles...he truly must have.

The crab is the cutest! That would be such a cute toy for a baby boy! I love it!
