Did Having Diabetes Factor in to How Many Children You Ended up Having?

Our groups been a little inactive, so I'm throwing this one out there.
When my husband and I got married and then decided to have children, he worried.
He worried that they might end up with diabetes.
He worried about his health and how it factored into the stressors that would be placed on us by having a family.
He worried that if his health began to suffer that the additional burden of childrearing and helping him would be placed upon me.

Did any of these factors play into how many children you had? Or want to have?

Standard fears, understandable concerns even.... but nope, did not interfere even remotely because the "practice" is waaaaaay too much fun!!!!
My son was diagnosed at 18 months on the day I was scheduled to have my ultrasound to confirm what we had already suspected. We have two beautuful boys and our hands are full. Our family is complete.
wasn't a factor for our kids but I grew lazy and my A1C's went up i went on byetta and that kinda scared me away from #3.
I have 3 kids, 5, 8 and 11. With my first 2 pregnancies, I was anal with my blood sugars. With my 3rd, I was no where near as well managed as I should have been and he was 10 lbs. I still feel terrible I did that to the little guy. I had HELPP syndrome after his birth, and I decided I was done having kids then.

So far, knock wood , my children are diabetes free. The odds are in my favor. I'm the only one in my family with type 1, so hopefully me being a fluke works for my kids.
Yes it has. I wasn't diagnosed until a year after DD was born. I'm now on insulin again to get my sugars in tight control so we can conieve #2. I go back & forth with the idea of 2 but I want my daughter to have a sibling. My husband & I grew up as only children & do not want that for our child.

I worry about my health & my daughters or future childrens health as well. However, I won't go on not living because of this disease. That would be giving into it & I won't do that.

Yes. My endo told me it's too dangerous for me to have any more children so my husband got the snip. We were only planning to have two anyway, be we wouldn't have looked into having permanent birth control.
