Comment by Barbara Worthington on September 9, 2012 at 1:42pm Been a diabetic for over 7 years now, since becoming a Mom. :) Wanted to share my other passion in life, Alzheimer's. I have started up a business to help caregivers of those with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and related memory or speech disorders to better communicate irregardless of what stage of the disease they are in.
It is called Caregiver Cards. The product is quite simply a series of illustrations used to communicate, prompt and cue. They are available as a hand-held card deck version or as a mobile app (IOS, Android, Kindle & Nook).
One in eight older American’s (approximately 5.4 million individuals) has Alzheimer’s disease. There are nearly 15 million Alzheimer’s and dementia caregivers providing 17 billion hours of unpaid care valued at $202 billion.
If you fall into this category, or know someone who does, please take the time to visit my website www.caregivercards.biz to order any products or just gain info and help on Alzheimer's disease and care giving.
