If you need someone to talk to, check out the Phone Numbers at Suicide Hotlines, United States Hotlines, and International Hotlines

If you are not in immediate danger because of thoughts of suicide, but need someone to talk with about your suicidal feelings, please do not hesitate to call one of the following national suicide prevention lines:

1-800-SUICIDE (1-800-784-2433)

1-800-273-TALK (1-800-273-8255)

You may call these suicide prevention numbers from anywhere in the United States, 24 hours a day. People are waiting to help you. Call a suicide prevention number right now if you need to. And always remember that it is never okay to act on your thoughts of suicide. Never. Again, call a suicide prevention number now if you need to.

Never act on your thoughts of suicide.

Bless you Carly, for asking. I've got some new aches and pains that have me wanting to start with wine at lunch--I resist, but we all know what that means. Pain is a natural depressant, don't you think?!

Hi CatyJ and Dwayne

I have had type 1 for 61 years and suffered with severe depression 6-7 years ago. I felt awful but still kept up with my diabetes. As it turned out I ended taking meds(cymbalta) for approx 5 years with good success had increasing strengths. Approx 1 year ago I started on wellbutrin and now am off cymbalta. I am back to my happy self. It can be fixed but is trial and see. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

Any time you need to talk that would be fine.

Hi, CaityJ! Dwayne, here! I just want you to know you are not alone. No, it doesn't tend to go away; but you can learn to cope with it. I was diagnosed with insulin-dependent diabetes in 1990 -- long after already being diagnosed with anxiety and depressive disorders ... So it was like oh, yay! More stuff to get anxious and depressed about! (Not!) ... I am 50+, now; and still trying to figure out a permanent way to cope! Is it easy? No. Is it do-able? I'm still here. Keep your chin up, kiddo! hugs & Bright Blessings! )O(

Does anyone else feel like their days are scheduled around meal planning? When can I find the time to do the everyday stuff. I've had type 1 diabetes for 13 years and the people I spoke to told me it would get easier in time, well I'm just not getting it. Any suggestions?

PJ, you are too good for the ex. Hold your head up high and be thankful the rat left you. You can cope, you know you can, be strong and work out how to live your life so that you can be happy.
