has anybody been to Canada lately to buy insulin...about 2 years ago, you didnt need a script and the insulin was only $24 Canadian for a bottle of Humalog, that would cost $85 in the US with a script from a doctor, which could also cost money

Last night I dreamed that my family came to visit me, and that they were so happy to see me... that they were there to help me out of my whole, and be a support for me... That they understood that I've been struggling so much, and not being able to find a job... and they were not judgmental at all. It was so, so happy... And when I woke up, I woke up crying... because, alas, my family is none of those things. :( They have never once visited me here... and they are very resentful of me because they don't understand and can't relate to the poor economic issues we're facing, right now. I really hate having to need their help...

So sorry Liz! I was just wondering about how that was going for you too. Don't worry - at least, you got an interview. I haven't had an interview since last year! It is tough out there. Keep trying!

I don't have any health insurance and i don't have a job also im in college. I have like two days left of lantus and I have no clue where i can go to get help with this. I have applied for medicaid and they denied me because they do not consider diabetes a disability so i went to social security and applied but they said it will take up to 3 months to make a decision. Any ideas would help thank you.

After reading this article on Yahoo:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100706/ap_on_he_me/us_money___health_c...

I decided to check out the link provided for low cost clinics etc:
http://findahealthcenter.hrsa.gov/

Funny how when I put my addresses in that the first place that came up that is closest to me was a place I called months ago and said "We are not taking any new patients" ugh. But now I have a bigger list of places around here so I may hit some of those up and see. At least, ONE of the them has to be taking in new patients. I find it funny though how the clinics alway say "No one will be turned away because of lack of ability to pay" ...AH BUT you might be refused if they don't feel like adding anymore patients - what are you supposed to do than? Sit on a waiting list. YEAH RIGHT! Geez...

I am not sure I get this "We have no more patient space thing" - How is this? It is not like EVERY patient comes in ALL the time. Some probably come in once and never come back. I used to work in a hosptial, I know how many never come back even a second time. This just seems off to me.
