Does anyone know what meter Dr. Bernstein currently recommends. I saw him 7 years ago and he recommended the Bayer Contour. I'm still using it, but am suspicious of the readings lately. Maybe it's time for a new meter.

The best meter I have found is the Wavesense Presto (both price and accuracy). Strips are about $35/100 for the Presto versus around $45/100 for the Aviva.

Permalink Reply by Sheila Fitz on May 18, 2012 at 4:33pm I registered for some kind of a program with Accu-chek where I only pay $17 for enough strips to test 6 times a day. It used to be only $15. I'm not sure if the deal is that you have to have regular insurance to qualify or not. My copay without this plan would have been around $50.
