I woke up this morning with a 215 fasting high after not eating before bed and vomiting mucus this morning. I had about 6 good hours of sleep with my CPAP, and have a history of the dawn effect.

This is getting to be crazy. I'm getting similar results if I get protien before bed, fiber before bed, or no food before bed.

The only thing I can think of is changing my pillow at night to help the drainage of mucus, and hoping it will help stop the vomiting (which I've had since high school due to a wrestling injury) or getting another sleep study done. Does anyone have any experience with the "CPAP pillows" or memory foam pillows and their PAP?

some people are just drainy people... i hate to say it. my daughter and i have been like this most of our lives. we just have large drainy sinuses. i am currently on a CPAP and some mornings it happens and some it doesn't. and as for the DP, i'd talk to your endo. if you aren't on insulin already, i'd see about an overnight dosage to bring it down.

I found out something that helps a whole bunch with that draining of the mucus. Try elevating the head of your bed about 4-6 inches I put mine on a 4X6 inch wood block My sinus drain better, and I don't wake up choking on flem and it makes sleeping a little better and didn't have to mess with changing pillows or anything else

With respect to the "flem", I have had issues with this for some time now, and I attributed it to the fact that I used to smoke for a few years straight several years ago. I'm sure that has a lot to do with it still, but I find your 4x6 inch wood block idea intriguing. I will have to check that out. I have tried using multiple pillows for comfort, but maybe I can kill two bird with one stone, hmm....

raising the head of the bed is good on several levels. my husband used to do it because for some reason it helped his back. i noticed that it helped my breathing as well.
