I'm moving to Orlando in the next month. I'll have to find a endocrinologist who treats type 1 diabetics on pumps. If anyone has a suggestion, I'd appreciate it. Any other advice about living in Florida with type 1 is appreciated too.

Hey Cynthia,

I use Dr Sohail Ali, he's a great endo. 407-629-4901
If you need a CDE, he uses a lady named Luanna who I also like very much, 407-701-3329
And the local ADA office is in Maitland, 407-660-1926

Good luck to you! :) Laurie
Hi Cynthia. I live in Weston, west of Ft Ladeda now but will likely be moving north of Orlando in the next year or so. I will be glad to see the recommended endos, myself. From where will you be moving? The weather in Orlando should be pretty wonderful in the winter but be prepared for some hot summers.
Hi Elaine,
I've had two recommendations for Dr Sohail Ali, so far. I'll be working for the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. I haven't decided yet where I'll live If there are any recommendations for realtors, I could use that too.

Cynthia
Sounds like your employment might put you in a good position to be hooked up with some good care. Have you asked your current endo if he/she knows anyone there?
I live in Orlando, Ihave type 1 diabetes, and have a veru good endocrinolagis.
Dr. Pacheco, in Maitland,407-629-4901
Of the many people who responded to me on and off-line, just one group of Docs was recommended:

Central Florida Endocrine and Diabetes Consultants

Penny S. Glickman
Carlos A. Pacheco
Ali Sohail

635 N. Maitland Ave.
Maitland, FL
407-629-4901
Have you moved to Orlando and what Endo did you go with? I've been to one already and trying another at the end of the month.
For anyone still looking for good Endos in Orlando area I now see Dr. Tanton. He has a satelite office in Sandlake and his big clinic is located in Celebration which I now drive to. He has everything you can think of including another NP with him and Diabetic educators. Their office got me a new pump and the continuous monitor within 2 wks of seeing him. I now go weekly for the Diabetic educator to regulate my way out of control diabetes and I could not praise this team more. They are wonderful.
Sandy,

That is great - very happy for you.

I just finished with my endo visit in Annapolis, MD!

Here's to good numbers and a better life quality on the pump :)

Cheers,
Mike
