Welcome to our newest member, "PA1" from New Jersey. If you have a chance send her a welcome message. And how was everyone's summer? Let us know what you did and where you'd recommend we visit inside the state of Florida.

I'm deleted some messages from 2009 -- we've dropped our 9 pages of messages down to 4 pages. Want to remind you that the purpose of this page is to advise members of things to do where we live. I think that we're lucky to live in Florida and there's a lot to do here. It really works for us with the economy being the way it is. Help promote local tourism and it will help our state.

Mike, isn't Mount Dora known for a big bicycle gathering each year? Tell us about it as I think there are several bikers on FLA USA. Jay

I may not have told the group, but I now live in Mount Dora. A bit north and west of Orlando.

Welcome Keirsten!

I love St Augustine. Used to go there all the time as a kid to camp by the beach. Haven't been there in a long time. We've been getting rain here in Orlando. This is my first summer living here and I don't think it's as bad as some of the summers I've spent here as a kid visiting my dad.

I swear I joined long time ago but I had computer problems and everything was wiped out. This is the worse summer since I moved to Florida. HOT AND HUMID very little rain. I live in the oldest city in the USA..big birthday celebration in 2015...we have even invited the Pope. Reed

Hey Floridian TuDers!

I will be doing some road tripping over the next couple of weeks. If anyone wants to get together, discuss our "issues", or have a little fun, drop me a note.

April 15 - 18, I will be in Mount Dora (just NW of Orlando)
April 19 - 25, I will be in Naples.

I will also have my cool recumbent tricycle with me, if anyone is interested.

Fair Winds,
Mike

Welcome Sandy Palmer!

Thought I'd tell you about something I've found here in Tallahassee. It is educational, fun and interesting. It is the Mission San Luis. This was a community where Apalachee Indians and newcomers from Spain lived in close proximity drawn together by religion as well as military and economic purpose. And it is right near downtown Tallahassee. There has been extensive archeology and reconstruction on the site. There are guided tours and I plan to visit again in the near future. If you have a chance, come to Tallahassee and visit.

How do you measure the work of volunteers?

329,040 minutes, 329,040 moments so dear. 329,040 minutes — How do you measure, measure volunteers? In smileys, in tears shed, in counsel, in cups of coffee. In units, in carb counts, in laughter, in strife. In 329,040 minutes – how …
