Jay, Is the Surf Station a Surf shop? If so, I drive past it every Tues, Thurs and Sun on my way to the gym.

I may have to go over there tomorrow; looks like they are having a nice sale on jackets.

Fair Winds,

Mike

Thanks Jay! Jax is nice. It's close to the beaches and I95 makes it easy to travel. I found this website through an internet search and it looks pretty nice. I became T1 just before my 18th birthday, so its nice to see others with similar stories. Take care

Hi Jay! You know I've just moved here--so I'm still figuring that out :). We found a great beach at Atlantic Dunes Park (near Linton off A1A). There is also a great fresh market at The Boys on Military Trail near Atlantic. I'm really looking forward to riding my bike around town and discover some more.

Thanks for the welcome!

I've lived in FL off and on for quite a few years, so I'm familiar to hurricane season, but when storms come, I always find myself unprepared as far diabetes supplies are concerned. Just curious, does anyone have a sort of emergency disaster-relief diabetes supply kit stashed away?

Wendy, from St. Petersburg is our latest member. We now total 68 strong. St. Pete is a great place to visit. There's always a lot going on there. Catherine's son, Stu, lives there with his fiancee, Lilly. Stu rides and races bicycles and they both love the place. It is always fun to visit with them and finding some new place to visit. The last time we were there we went to the Sunken Gardens. So, welcome Wendy. We'll look you up the next time we're in town.

Welcome to jconroy. She is number 67 to our group and appears to know all the ends and outs of Gainesville and Jacksonville.

There has been lots of discussion about that, Vin. Research the forum. Have fun!

Hey, gainesville is same ol' same ol' ... any other diabetics drink more than their supposed to? Just hard being in college and not drinking ? Just one of my concerns.

This is nice. I live in Dunnellon, work in Gainesville, and visit Jacksonville 2-3 times a month for a couple of days. I love talking to other diabetics, but have only actually met like 2 or 3 t1's in RL since being diagnosed (1996).

Catherine and I also visited Sunken Gardens. Amazing plants and well worth the visit. And welcome to Jeff as well as Andy Redmond. We're up to 64 members.
