Does anyone know if the Re-lion strips work in the Precision Xtra meter? I bought a Re-lion meter and strips yesterday to try and I noticed that the Precision Xtra and the Re-lion are identical. The strips and everything seem the same. Just wondering if Abbot changed the coding on the test strips. Anyone know?

I'm going to ask my clinic for a Precision X-tra and do an experiment to see. The Re-lion strips are about $10-15 cheaper - so if they work and give accurate readings, that could be a solution for diabetics who are paying for their own strips.

Technically the Relion Ultra (i think thats what it called) is the Precision Xtra but cannot do ketone strips.. Im curious if the strips are compatible or they pulled a lifescan and changed the strips contacts as compared to one of their mail order only meters.
