I was referred for an MRI enterography, which I went to yesterday morning. I did not know beforehand that part of the procedure involved an injection of glucagon! Apparently it will slow the contractions of the bowel enough so they can get a clear picture.
Anyway, long story short, I've been admitted to the hospital with DKA. I've never had DKA before, and I had wanted to keep it that way.
If any doctor wants you to get this test, tell them you would prefer a different small bowel study so you don't end up in the hospital like me!
