I suppose I will be having the same issue soon :| I just started the insulin pump, so I'll be having things shipped to my house instead of just picking them up from the pharmacy (which probably isn't so sustainable, anyways). I wish there was some creative, grass-roots solution available.

i'm totally freaked out by my mail order delivery GIANT STYROFOAM container. I feel like i have to do mail order, because it's soo much less expensive. But Geez, could the company do something different? When the stuff comes in the giant cooler, my husband always says, "oh, your heart is here." and it cracks me up every time. i try to compensate by living green in other ways. what to do?

Do any of you think that the diabetes supply industry itself could somehow be "greened?" I don't know the details behind insulin, syringe, pump cartridge, etc. production, but I assume there's probably room for improvement. I wish a "green" diabetes company would arise.

i grow mushrooms...not just the psychotropic type...edible and gourmet.
anyone ever checkout gardenpool.com...this guy is out here in Phx and is turning his whole back yard into a self sustaining wonderland...really cool hydroponic set-up above a pool turned into a greenhouse filled with tilapia,the fish waste acts as fertelizer for the veggies and you get to eat the fish too...very cool!
i'v got a small hydro-garden too...not just weed:)
