Hey everyone,

I'm just curious as to how all of you first got involved with diabetes and TuDiabetes for that matter. As someone without diabetes, it takes a level of intentionality to put ourselves in a place where we are regularly exposed to the world of diabetes. I would like to know why you choose to be here.

my son was diagnosed at 12 months he is now 4yrs... I stumbled onto this site while searching for diabetes sites... but Im greatful to have found it!!! I love being able to share our experiences and learn from those of others!!

My daughter was diagnosed at 8 years old and is now 10 almost 11. She took 4 shots a day for the first 6 months and sometimes additional shots if she wanted something extra.  Then after 6 months we started the process to get her on the pump, since she has been on the pump it has been a lot more freeing for her.  Of course she still has her lows and highs, but she is much more control of it.  Sometimes I get really emotional about the whole thing cuz when it comes to your kids you just want them to be healthy.  If I could take this disease from her and take it on myself I totally would, just so she could be completely free.  I found this website very recently and I am so glad I did.  I feel like I have found other people that can relate to what I go through as a parent and I can vent and even get feedback that is very helpful. I'm considering letting my daughter have a page on this website too, but at the moment, still thinking about it.
