Welcome, Courty1! Great having you here to share some online space, in the ever-expanding Diabetes Online Community. I'm humbled that you mention my blog in being some inspiration or motivation to come on by here... There are so many out there who did the same for me, and echo the mantra that we're NOT alone in this. Thanks for reaching out and being a part, and I'll look forward to keeping in touch!

I am new to the online community and I am currently reading soooo many blogs/comments/discussions and getting really excited about actually relating to other PWD! I thought I would join this group, as it is the closest to Illinois support. I am a "born again" diabetic, realizing that after over 30 years with this life complication, I should probably get serious about my care if I want to live a long HAPPY life. I have been through depression before and recently stopped denying the apparent symptoms I've been suffering from for the past few years and decided it was time to take care of myself. I don't know how I stumbled upon his blog site, but I found myself addicted to reading Michael Hoskins "Diabetes Corner Booth" which led me to tudiabetes. I read Michael's entire history of blogs and it made me feel a million times better! I have been inspired and motivated by soooo many people through online reading and I am looking forward to making many new friends!

June 11 this year is the Tour de Cure at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  I hope to be able to meet many of you there.  I will be riding.  If you can't ride but would be willing to sponsor me let me know.My Tour Page

I'd like to welcome Kellie and her son to our group, We're glad to have you and your son. It's very good that he was able to make the team. I'm sure he will probably be able to play even better and harder now that his b/g levels will be more under control! I would also like to encourage you and anyone other members to share our site with your doctors. It would probably help other patients get information, and us as well. I'd also like to (if anyone hears of any or keeps up on any) have more information posted by others (and myself) about any walks for diabetes, meetings, etc... It would be good atleast for me to get involved and I also feel like it would help me and others who want to meet more diabetics to talk too, as well as maybe introduce them to our group.

Hoping everyone had a good christmas and made some good goals for the coming year. Christmas in my family was a little crazy this year. To start my sister and her husband were coming in from out of town while on there way my brother in law put his car in the ditch he had the family dog with him... They are ok and didn't get hurt at all but the car did. My sister was following behind them she was a little freaked out gladly her and my niece were not in the car. Christmas night while at my grandparents for our family get together/gift exchange my grandpa had a mild stroke just before everyone got there. It's not the first one he has had, We took him to the ER and he was admitted to the hospital it has taken alot of strength out of his left leg... but I am still looking up at the bright side of things. I could have lost some of the most important people in my life this week... And thankfully they are both doing well or atleast recovering! Hopefully everyone elses holidays have been a little better and less (bad) excitement then my family has had though!

Hello Indiana Group ~ my son was diagnosed with Type One juvenile diabetes a little over two weeks ago...so, I am still very new to all this. We live in Greenfield, Indiana very near Indianapolis...my son is very active playing baseball (his 13U team won the Central Indiana State Championship this summer!) And, although I don't know how because of the undiagnosed Type one, he made the seventh grade basketball team. I just met with our diabetes specialist this morning and told her about TuD...she looked at the sight and was very impressed!

Hi everyone. I live in South Bend. Born and raised in the area. Diagnosed with Type 1 at 17yrs. Started pumping 5-6 years after with Minimed Paradigm. It's my first week with the Continuous Glucose Monitor.

I am new to TuD, just discovered it this past week while searching for forums and groups to dialogue in. I do not have any diabetics in my circle of family and friends. I joined TuD to conversate with adults who share similar life experiences with diabetes and to seek advice, suggestions and support. Especially now that I'm starting the journey with the CGM.

I hope this group continues forward. I would love to get involved in my area.
